Intense colours, unique character design and storytelling that ventures beyond traditional gender expectations: It’s hard not to fall for Luca Tóth’s films. FAB is head over heels that the Hungarian animation director Luca Tóth, born in 1989, said yes to creating this year’s festival trailer, plus she’ll give a masterclass! After completing her bachelor studies at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, Luca was off to the Royal College of Art. Her graduation film “The Age of Curious” won the Jury Distinction Prize in Annecy in 2014. She is a wanted guest at many festivals these days: her first independent short film “Superbia” premiered at Critics’ Week in Cannes in 2016 and her latest film “Mr. Mare” debuted at Berlinale in 2019.
