October 09 - 11, 2020

Each year, FAB presents an outstanding selection of recent national and international animated shorts. Local and filmmakers from across the globe get the opportunity to connect and collaborate with like-minded people and share their work with the public.

By offering a diverse programme FAB aspires not only to promote filmmakers but also pay tribute to the art of animation. We aim at making the festival accessible to a wide range of audiences. As a platform where inspiration, creative exchange, innovation, and communication come together, we provide a point of connection for both emerging and established filmmakers as well as interested local audiences. Intended at bringing independent and alternative filmmakers together, FAB offers a strong networking platform representative of the artistic diversity across the animation industry

Information on the current situation

As you might imagine, even FAB can the feel the impact of COVID-19. But rest assured that we do our best to give a stage to your artistic animation films on FAB again as they deserve it! However, we’ll keep you posted on the ongoing development and until then: do it like our little alien and submit your recent animation films until May 15, 2020 for FAB#s next festival edition!

FAB’s third edition took place on the 21st of September at Berliner Kino Central. 27 films made it into the selection and were screened in three competition categories. The very best films were awarded with handmade trophies and cash prizes. This year’s festival programme displayed a wide array of activities in addition to the competition: an Italy-focused screening, a masterclass with animation Artist Roberto Biadi, pitching sessions as well as social and networking events.
