The official programme of FAB2020 comprised six competition categories presenting animated shorts for kids and adults. The competitions were organised into shows for kids and teens, as well as national and international short film competitions.PROGRAMME TIMETABLE (PDF)
Animation films for children and teenagers
The PINK PANDA selection comprised short animated film screenings for children of three age groups: Preschool children, primary school children and teenagers. Screenings took from 40 minutes for the youngest up to 75 minutes for the older viewers.
The winner of this category was EVGENIA GOLUBEVA for “The Witch and the Baby”. The prize for the best Pink Panda was sponsored by dyrdee media.
Student animated short films in competition
Short films directed by young filmmakers were presented in the NEW TALENTS competition in two screening sessions.
The winner was MARIA TRIGO TEIXEIRA with her film “Inside Me”. The prize for the best student film was donated by Alumniverein der Filmuniversität KONRAD WOLF.
National competition of animated short films
The GERMAN ANIMATION competition comprised a variety of the latest German animation films and was accompanied by the opening ceremony of FAB2020.
This year’s award was going out to DINA VELIKOVSKAYA for “Ties”. The prize for the best German animation film was sponsored by AG Animationsfilm.
International competition of animated short films
In five screenings we showcased outstanding short animated films from around the world in this INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION competition, including two Stop Motion Specials.
The jury awarded NATALIA MIRZOYAN for “Five Minutes to Sea” for the Best International Animation. The prize of this category was sponsored by fritz-kola.
The special award for the Best International Stop Motion film went to TAKESHI YASHIRO for “Gon, the little Fox”. The prize was donated by Animation Network Berlin e. V.
